In 2017 we designed the sports court for Noorderpoort, a technical high school in Groningen, the Netherlands. This court is used not only by the school’s students and staff but also by the neighborhood’s residents.

The entire process focused on the desires of the students, teachers, staff, and neighbors. We also worked closely with local basketball players to create a professional field that was much wanted by the city’s players.

The final plan includes a full-size basketball court, with an integrated football field. The park also incorporates calisthenics equipment, trampolines, ping-pong tennis, and plenty of sitting options. Walking paths to the court provide easy access to the school and the neighbors.

The court was opened in June 2018.
